Promoting Environmental Friendly Practices

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system devised by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to evaluate the

environmental performance of a building and encourage market transformation towards sustainable design. The system is credit-based, allowing projects

to earn points for environmentally friendly actions taken during construction and use of a building. LEED was launched in an effort to develop a

“consensus-based, market-driven rating system to accelerate the development and implementation of green building practices.” The program is not

rigidly structured; not every project must meet identical requirements to qualify. www.concretethinker.com

In the course of our business and technical interactions with our local and foreign clients, we realize that environmentally friendly practices are no longer

simply a nice differentiator but rather a key area of competitive advantage with consumers becoming increasingly discerning about companies they

would work with. This is why we at Deep Cleaning have gone Deep Green and have adopted a few of the following approaches in response to

environmental demands.

  1. Energy savings through heating/cooling only when absolutely necessary. This also involves use of chemicals and products that can be effectively utilized with tepid water at room temperature.
  2. Implementing preventive maintenance programs in facilities we manage to keep all building systems functioning as designed.
  3. The installation of meters to track progress and usage of energy, water and waste systems
  4. Use of flexible practices to share workspace in the office. Employees are assigned workspaces on a as-needed basis. This reduces real estate and energy requirements as well as commuting related carbon emissions
  5. Implementation of environmentally preferable landscape practices or water efficient landscaping using drought tolerant and indigenous plants
  6. Effective use of resources and office equipment to extend the lifespan of assets and delay in purchasing new ones
  7. Empower employees to help initiate change through training
  8. Turning off taps and electrical equipment when not in use.
  9. Use of low emitting materials in renovation and biodegradable substances in commercial cleaning and pest control
  10. The recycling of containers and reuse of materials
  11. Purchase of products that are non-toxic and resource efficient. The use of cleaning chemicals that biodegrade rapidly.
